10. 20. 26 Roundtable

Overview & Agenda

Join us from 12 - 1 pm ET on Tue Oct 20th for an open conversation with senior life sciences leaders on how life sciences companies and health systems are working together to generate real-world evidence that’s more relevant, comes together faster and at lower cost, and actually earns stakeholder buy-in.

We'll keep things fairly informal, but will make sure to cover the following:

Introductions and a brief spotlight on Michael Bogart, who leads Gilead's medical affairs research and previously ran US value evidence and outcomes at GSK, to kick off the conversation.

Group roundtable discussion focused on why RWE built through direct collaboration with health systems is landing with payers, providers, and internal leadership in ways licensed claims and third-party data often can’t, and what separates the pharma/health system collaborations that pay off from the ones that stall.

Q&A and best practice collaboration on how peers are getting collaborative studies with health systems off the ground faster and at lower cost without giving up control of study design or the story the evidence ends up telling.

Industry Spotlight

Michael Bogart

Medical Affairs Research Leader
Gilead Sciences

Michael has spent more than a decade producing the value and outcomes evidence behind how medicines reach patients, first across health outcomes and US value evidence at GSK and now in medical affairs research at Gilead. Before his current role, he rose from Director to Senior Director of Gilead's Patient Focused Implementation Science work, which focuses on turning research findings into real changes in patient care.

He built his foundation through the GSK Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research Fellowship at UNC's Eshelman School of Pharmacy, where he also earned his PharmD. Earlier in his career, he worked on developing and testing a novel point-of-care salivary diagnostic device as a UNC research assistant.

Charley Ruetsch

CEO
Health Analytics

Charley Ruetsch, PhD, is the founder and CEO of Health Analytics, where he leads real-world evidence strategy and collaborative evidence-generation programs for life sciences companies. For more than 30 years, he has worked across pharmaceutical and device manufacturers, payers, health systems, and clinical research organizations.

His work focuses on generating evidence that influences how healthcare stakeholders understand treatments, make decisions, and shape access. Earlier in his career, Charley held outcomes research leadership roles at CVS Caremark, Magellan Health Services, and MEDTAP International, and his research has contributed to changes in treatment policy and access, including in opioid use disorder. Charley earned his PhD in Psychology from Rutgers University, where his research focused on health behavior change and the development and validation of patient - reported outcome measures.

Jonathan Darer, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer
Health Analytics

A general internist by training, Jonathan has spent more than 17 years building data-driven clinical innovation inside major health systems, most notably as Chief Innovation Officer at Geisinger, where his team closed a quarter million evidence-based gaps in care and contributed more than $25 million in improved financial performance. He previously held clinical and executive roles at Kaiser Permanente and today directs evidence programs spanning neurology, psychiatry, rare disease, oncology, and cardiometabolic disease in partnership with payers, providers, and pharmaceutical companies.

He steers retrospective claims and EMR analyses that produce peer-reviewed publications and builds research partnerships that connect health systems directly with pharma. Jonathan holds an engineering degree from Harvard, an M.D. from the University of Connecticut, and completed his general internal medicine fellowship and M.P.H. at Johns Hopkins.

About us

Who We Are

Health Analytics drives real-world evidence strategy and generates more relevant, decision-ready evidence through established collaborations with health systems and other clinical partners. Our model allows life sciences companies to launch high-value research faster, at lower cost, and with less execution risk than building one-off research partnerships from scratch.

OUR EXECUTIVE NETWORK

Why We Convene

Our roundtables explore practical models for generating more relevant evidence faster, at lower cost, and with less execution risk by leveraging established collaborations with health systems and clinical partners.

Each event is intentionally small, creating an environment where leaders can compare experiences, challenge conventional approaches, and explore new models for collaborative evidence generation with health systems, clinicians, payers, and other research partners.
